The majority of conservatives say default is worse than a failure to reach a deal in spending cuts

70% Say Default is Bad for Economy, 56% Say Failure to Cut Spending is Worse

Reluctant support for debt ceiling hike… (50%) said more damage would be done by not raising the limit. In other words, those surveyed reluctantly say it’s better to raise the limit now, but eventually the debt must be reduced.

That’s Rasmussen & Fox – the two most far-right pollsters that exist. Even those guys are saying we must raise the debt ceiling. Will Republicans continue to play these partisan games when even their own party wants a deal?

Its all part of the script. They will wait to the eleventh hour to cut a deal so they can pass the most odious bill possible.
