Trying to live without any debt seems almost impossible in this day and age. However, with the right type of plan in place to manage your money effectively, debt elimination is actually a lot easier than you would think. The problem that we face on a day-to-day basis is the temptation to buy all the latest gadgets, owning a nice car, living in a dream home, and anything else that can be possibly advertised to us through savvy marketers. While some of these items are definitely a necessity, in most cases, a lot of them can be put aside for a rainy day. Of course, this does not mean that you should live your life without any form of enjoyment, as that would make life boring. What it does mean is that there should be some control as to how you go about spending your money, because this in turn will make debt elimination very possible.

Managing your money is actually easy. The only real challenge that we face has to deal with our temptations, and let’s face it, this is never an easy task. However, you will find that by trying to manage both your money and your temptations, in the end, you will not only be able to save money and keep yourself debt free, but you will also have enough money to purchase those dream items and to appreciate them more. So, the first priority should always be debt elimination. In other words, you have to have this mindset from day one, and no matter what you spend your money on, this phrase should always be there somewhere in your head.

The best way to manage your money is by using some form of accounting software or any other type of system that allows you to see money coming in and out of your home. You will find that by visually keeping track of what you spend and earn, this in turn will make you more aware of how quickly you can lose money as the days go by. When utilizing this money managing system, always put money aside in terms of priority. In other words, try to list every type of expense you have, and then group them into priorities labeled as daily and monthly necessities, important loans, and personal wants. Personal wants should always be at the bottom of the priority list, because those are things you can do without, or at least until you know you are taking care of your necessary expenses. Another group that you should make is called savings. In other words, just as you would spend a bit of money on all the other groups, make it a habit to spend some money on savings by just putting that money aside for a rainy day. By taking this approach, you will find that debt elimination becomes very easy, because you will feel that you have visual control over your money.
