National Debt Helpline Provides Free Help With Debt Problems

Several thousand people in the UK go into debt every year and many of these will have to file for bankruptcy in order to get out from under the pressures of those debts. Before your debts get to the point of no return, you should contact the National Debt Helpline for free and unbiased help and advice. The National Debt Helpline (also known as the National Debtline) is a free service that helps people of the UK who are experiencing financial difficulties. They are an independent service that will keep all information they receive confidential.

This very helpful facility is primarily a telephone service that operates nationwide throughout the United Kingdom. It is specifically for people with major debt problems who live in England, Scotland and Wales. The free and confidential service will discuss the options available to you for resolving the financial situation. They have self help materials that they will mail to you to offer you additional help or there is a whole range of documents that can be downloaded from their website. They send this information to you for free. In certain cases they will even help in setting up a debt management plan with a recommended debt management company in the UK.

The National Debt Helpline has a free telephone number that you can call to discuss your situation in as much detail as you want to. You can also email them with your financial questions if you prefer to or if you have any trouble getting through on the phone. Their website offers many self help packs that you can download and print, which is a completely cost free way to get expert help and detailed guidance in specific areas. These self help packs can answer a lot of your questions and can be invaluable to you. Besides the self help packs there are many fact sheets available which you can download.

There are dozens of fact sheets to choose form. Some of the topics covered include how to deal with business debt, how to avoid debt at Christmas, help with paying your mortgage, advice on bankruptcy, understanding administration orders and debt relief orders.

This is just a small sampling of what types of fact sheets are available for free download on the service’s website. You can also prepare a personal budget sheet, which can be an extremely useful starting point for addressing your finances. They have a weekly and a monthly budget sheet for you to choose from. A budget sheet will help you to see how much money you have coming in, see how much money is going out, plan your spending for the future and work out how much you have available to pay to your creditors.

The National Debtline also has sample letters you can use to send to your creditors to try to reach settlements. There are many sample letters available for download, which cover a whole host of situations and circumstances.
