Which country manages its taxes better, the United States or Canada?

Canada-most of its taxes pay for their health-care program and other social services.

United States-My taxes pay towards the interest on my gigantic national debt, and to pay for the other things we have we borrow money. The lion’s share of the money we borrow being spent on things average citizens will never see the living daylight’s of, like corporate/farming subsidies or excessive defense contracts.

Our debt is over 11 trillion dollars and rising $3.91 billion per day

What the heck, I thought America was a conservative country.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my country. I’m just disillusioned in how my “government” is managing our finances.

Canada, obviously. We could also have had balanced budgets for the last few years, as we had when Clinton left office. Clinton had budget surpluses. (Clinton used the same accounting methods that Bush later used.)

Bush however insisted on cutting taxes and increasing spending, pursuant to a form of supply-side economic theory. It obviously did not work out. and we ran up record deficits. In addition, bad Republican economic policies led to the near total collapse of our financial system and to the most severe recession since the Great Depression.

The effects have been global and now Canada is having budget problems due to the recession.
